The National DNA Database contains profiles from individuals and crime scenes that have been analysed using either SGM, SGMPlus or DNA17 tests. Upon loading of an unsolved crime scene profile or a profile from a named individual, this can create a match that is then communicated to the Force via a ‘match report’. This match report can be converted into either an MG22A or an MG22B by trained personnel within Force Scientific Support Units; the type of form used will be dependent on the nature of the match.  Please see the National SFR Guidance document for more details.
